There’s a lot to unpack here, as Lou Simón (All Girls Weekend 2016, 73 Minutes 2022) both wrote and directed this film. 9 Windows features zoomed-in hand-held shots of malevolent-looking instruments that are extremely well-crafted. This all occurs during the first few minutes of the film, which serves as excellent eye-catching material. A feeling of morbid interest is established within viewers that maintain their attention. The way a driver looks at a bad road accident on the highway is indicative of such interest. More than simply shocking, such snippets raise adrenaline levels, busying the eyes while the brain processes the horror.

Now comes the overwhelming wave of visuals that mark the character without the requirement of speech. The camera is zooming in on Liza’s face every so often and it seems as though her feelings are animated words on a screen. The push of the movie comes from Liza’s character arc and Garle Diane (Dare To Say Yes, Omni Loop 2024) serves the character at the start with an exuberance that is almost sickening. Garle’s pivot is quick, taking on a cloak of listless zeal as her character’s life makes a shocking transition. In addition to these, she does an incredible job at showing Liza’s ruthless facade that encases a survivor’s guilt. The film cuts to show that the only escape Liza has is a social platform she keeps nine tabs open. With this, her inner monologue goes out the window as she types endlessly on the keyboards to post malicious comments on feeds without a second thought.

Another character that propels Liza to be a powerful sleuth is a physical therapist, a detective, and a retired FBI agent all rolled into one. Jeff Barrios, who is a physical therapist with a flair for the dramatic, has Liza shower him with love which in turn makes him daydream over her when she is not around. He is captured brilliantly by Christopher Millan in 73 Minutes 2021 and Miami Bici 2 and makes it look easy in the process.

In opposition to this, we have Forsythe showing his impeccable acting when playing an overworked and jaded detective in Dick Tracy (1990) and The Devil’s Rejects (2005). The sharp insults Lisa throws at him do not affect him in the slightest, as he conveys in the utmost calm manner how he believes it was most likely a hoax. Now that the number of murders has started increasing at an alarming rate, he shifts gears and recruits a former FBI agent Larry Thorogood Michael Paré Eddie and the Cruisers 1983, Streets of Fire 1984. to help them build a strong squad that will seek to apprehend the killer who is loose online. The suspense escalates fast when Liza is suddenly the next victim, and every single breath that was inhaled now remains suspended in great expectation of what is next.

Shockingly, a person so inspiring is able to undergo a complete transformation, making him deserving of a truly spectacular future after deeply delving into the loathsome mind of a psychopath. With all the near-death experiences and physical disabilities, she is still able to experience love and rediscover her purpose in life. The main takeaway here is that while you may face some obstacles in the way, these challenges do not define your future.
