Matched
Matched: With the busy schedules of work and life and the influx of technology, the use of online platforms to seek love has seen an upsurge, thus putting features such as Tinder, which has 75 million active users, in the limelight. The downside is whenever there is convenience there are aspects of safety. In Shawn D. Parlour’s matched, directed by Eiji Uchida, there is even more excitement as we all go on a wild goose chase with dozens of ugly creatures around us.
In the story Matched, Rinka Tadashima (Tao Tsuchiya) who strives to become a successful wedding planner is shown in every aspect of her clients last minute fantasies. She is also – as she keeps reminding each and everyone – 29 years of age and lives with her single father Tetta Sugimoto and is tired of being single. So when friend Naomi Moemi Katayama informs her about a new dating application called Will Will, that’s being promoted by their company for a forthcoming project, she figures why not.
She’ll reach out to the ideal person, as computed by the program buried inside that matchmaker application, who happens to be a computer engineer called Tom Daisuke Sakuma of a boy band Snow Man.
But then there’s Tsuyoshi Kageyama (Nobuaki Kaneko), the mechanical programmer what shows at the planning meeting that there are numerous Will Will newlywed couples all Rinka’s clients that have been killed gruesomely in quick succession. The killer severs their hands, and then bonds their limbs together, which makes no sense; they do it simply because some thought to do it.
Instead of quitting her account and possibly taking that opportunity for a change in.some other vocation maybe Rinka decides to go out on a date with Tom … this one ends up being a weirdo creepster claiming that he was ‘Born under a bad star.’ think I should go poor you soldier, when I have noone to talk to, I don’t even flash.
At which point I was wondering what kind of wiring, drug, or emotional state Rinka was in to walk around with left and right without blocking Tom, the antagonist, on her phone or yes maybe just relocate to another place. And when Tom Rinka who seems over attached to here took out an old family photograph and showed it to Rinka this photo had all the eye socket holes there but no eyes in them tom Rinka thought that there is worse news out than this.
There is a specific phrase for this type of movie Matched logic. A fitting term for this one is “idiot plot”, but not because it appeals only to the idiots, rather that’s the only way the entire drama can hold water – assuming the central character happens to be such a dolt.
D-Day works fine as Rinka has every reason on strong evidence to be detained in a hidden chamber right now, but she blunders into action like a missile without her system switch. This is taking place just when the movie is getting to its key point where many or just extremely insane such figures have appeared.
The purpose here is more than evident — “disturbing” and “twisting should be. But the various big-ands-in-your-face reveals are not as hard to see coming, and bluntly done, with most of the cast chewing-acting-out various props it Since there are numerous characters in the film, we did not give Rinka any screaming scenes. She may shriek from time to time when circumstances warrant, but this one isn’t the type to go haywire.
What, however, happens when the climax is close is that one is often unable to pity any character, meaning except two veteran examine police officers. They are the only detectives that connect the dots without being sidetracked by arbitrary factors. It would be great if such a sexual educator’s teacher would teach this kind of elementary wisdom to Rinka.
