The Inheritance
The Inheritance
The Inheritance: In the present tale there are two or three things you probably thought I was about to say that today I’m going to have to disappoint you – as many times as I svdemn against such tendencies because I do not think that simplification is the an inadvertent applause or a good surprise but rather a bit of an exaggeration – Actually, I do. You would leave in a bright hope just that language is far from being illogical and radical.
The director, Alejandro Brugues, is very quick to draw our attention right from the inception. He has been in the film business, doing segments of Nightmare Cinema, the inconceivable Jaun of the Dead, and lastly, the show satanic hispanics. The director is back, this time with the features the INHERITANCE and brings some fresh visuals twinstacy that gives the oft repeated tale a totally new twist and makes it exciting to behold once again.
A gone brooding husband an insular family in this instance pretty much certain to push boundaries an ailing philanthropist misses Wendy Noelle is where they explained the plot further Mr. Abernathy W. and indeed even their weather is terrible all the control strands are in Hffydia upon entering her father’s Connecticut Winter home you’ll never.
The children are however told to come to Charles’ residence each alone. There is however one son Drew Mrs hathes in the pregnant Hannah Hirose. When the last recruited kontakas confronted Susan there were some doubts what the hastily extrapolated families goal was and why was it needed. The conclusion is, the children had the prep that, Charles will die.
He informs that he has gone through certain procedures in the days gone by such as in the line of duty for the sake of the family and all those decisions have a bill that is due. There is a bounty on him and the only people who provide him comfort of his protection are his family and to make sure that their full engagement is guaranteed should he not make it by day break is that there fortune will be decided to be given away instead to charity.
Once more, in all tendencies, Charles tries again to tell Hannah that she ought to vanish for this time it has nothing to do with her but as – she would argue that she is family and that if ever anything happens to Charles, she would never forgive herself, Charles gives in, the house is secured as a bank vault, and we are ready for the action.
The mystery of Charles and what he has done unravels gradually as a number of surprising bouts and creative deaths occur. Director Brugues employs very interesting optical illusions and imagination to supply the audience with some of the most enjoyable murder sequences.
I am going to remain spoiler-free but let me just say, keep an open eye for the swimming pool scene, the elevator one and for the stairs scene. Burgues rather employs the special treatment that these ‘ordinary’ film of genres should have, yet, they engage so much excitement in the fans of the genre reveled in crazed grins.
As family members die out one by one, the surviving members of the family are able to piece together every last piece of the family puzzle in turns and the ultimate evil brooding over Charles is all exposed right around the help’s trolling climactic finale.
Thanks to clever casting and a talented director here – THE INHERITANCE like many other films cannot just be labeled as a ghost story or father’s sins revenge story somehow transforms itself into a film that explores the concepts of visual art and is able to do it in a completely fresh way.
It needs to be pointed out that I enjoyed THE INHERITANCE and without any hesitations I share my opinion that everybody should do everything possible to attend this reading of the will.
In conclusion, four stars – for this enjoyable, creative and quite surreal journey.
