Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum have great chemistry in a cheerful chick flick that has just enough patriotism in it. Couples and conspiracy lovers should be ready for some surprises agreement concerning the best date movie of the early summer named Fly Me to the Moon. The leads are more than perfect, while a surprisingly good script makes for an enjoyable retelling of America’s greatest technological achievement. Director Greg Berlanti should get most credit for deftly intercutting newscasts from a divided era. He frames the heroes of the Apollo space program against a Vietnam War backdrop, political assassinations, and social unrest. After all, moon landing reminded this rather pessimistic nation about what can be done when you let your geniuses think they can achieve greatness. So we are talking about Fly Me to the Moon movie here.

The girl enters the room on Madison Avenue where men who hate women are gathered to see a marketing presentation about Ford Mustang cars. Kelly Jones (Johansson) is not only ignored as woman till her skills become evident enough to attract attention. She walks into Madison Avenue with so much confidence that everyone can’t help but cheer at her before even the ink on contract dries up. Kelly knows how to manipulate others effectively by lying.

In Cape Canaveral Florida, Apollo mission commander Cole Davis (Tatum) is under tremendous pressure after President John F Kennedy pledged in 1961 to put an American man on the moon by end of decade. He will have seven months till lunar landing attempt of Apollo 11 in 1969. This was followed by congressional reduction of NASA funds due to tragic loss in Apollo 1 fire in January 1967; why waste billions or astronauts’ lives on space when people need them? Cole cannot forget these brave men but he does not want to give up too soon: success belongs to those who died.

In New York City, Kelly’s martini lunch was interrupted by an unexpected visitor Moe Berkus (Woody Harrelson), a top Nixon advisor, who has Kelly’s entire life history in his possession. All that she needs to do is pay the price and all her sins will be washed away. NASA has an image problem. He needs their funding back, a new face for NASA, and winning at any cost against communism. It had confused Kelly until now. One way or another an American will go to the moon.

Fly Me to the Moon hella exemplifies beauty and glamor as means of romance. Scarlett Johansson is a sexy blonde bombshell whose curvy outfits make everyone snap their necks. The contrast between a fit chiseled Adonis in different colored turtlenecks amidst an ocean of nerdy white dress shirts worn with black ties and rimmed glasses is also very remarkable on stage, especially when Channing Tatum is on it. They are so hot that one can literally feel steam coming off them; everyone in the vicinity can smell their sex appeal burning through like wild fire around their bodies.

Kelly first meets Cole when he ignores her because he’s too busy with other things such as ladies who do not matter as much as his career does which makes her even more interested in him at any time possible. Here’s this guy who isn’t tripping over himself trying to make an impression? This magnetism, though humorous turns into sexual angst once straight-laced Cole discovers just how much control Kelly has over him. She has been given carte blanche authority from above to fix NASA’s PR and Cole doesn’t like it one bit. Scientific problems cannot be solved by advertising campaigns; he must ensure the astronauts’ safety till mission completion (Gosling).

Kelly replies with solid facts and brave actions. Rocket launches cost money. To get back money from people and to reshape the way NASA is seen, its top managers need to do a lot of work. However, none of this will happen unless Cole cooperates with her plan. The only problem is that he has no idea about how she plans to fake the landing.

Berlanti, an influential showrunner known for Dawson’s Creek, multiple Arrowverse episodes on CW Network, and Life as We Know It movie, ensures that his cast members look their best on-screen. For all her deception though Kelly remains likeable. Cole is your dream son-in-law type of man. The characters come together in a collaborative effort based on traditional values.

Berlanti’s visual cues are instrumental to this process. We observe NASA engineers constructing colossal Saturn V rockets, lunar modules as well as vehicle landers. These are contrasted with Vietnam’s casualties shots. Berlanti always wants viewers not to forget what is at stake here and there in the film.” As a result of being aware of how public opinions can shape reality Kelly realizes the importance of her image in society at large.” Winners move forward; truth tellers like Cole can’t lie in order for things go according to their way”. After getting hold of that secret I can predict his demeanor.

However, Fly Me to the Moon does not fall into such standard pitfalls.” It takes us right through these clichés like two people who have been brought together by fate—a tired old convention that romance movies continue to exploit”. At least we all knew they would end up locking lips passionately though.” Instead it depends on the moments if joy experienced during this time frame”. Definitely it captures something magical about falling in love between Kelly and Cole while saving humanity’s aspirations launched into space.’ This is an old-fashioned heart-warming tale.’ He plays opposite Harrelson with almost unidentifiable Ray Romano who is just amazing.” This race has no villains as every character deserves to be supported”.

It is indeed true that there is no such thing as a video game adaptation curse, but there are terrible films based on video games. Borderlands, for instance. Honorable mention goes, of course, to Eli Roth’s ugly-as-hell adaptation of one of Gearbox Software’s best loved franchises, the ridiculously entertaining looter shooter following.
