Luis Fonsi’s romantic comedy film, “Say A Little Prayer” takes further steps after signing an agreement with AMC Theatres that would allow the film to be screened in 100 cinemas in some major cities over the thanksgiving holiday.
AMC twelfth largest theatre chain company in terms of number of screens, announced the contract with New Cadence Productions, closer to the picture than it was with “Say a little prayer” culture. Luis Fonsi made his film acting with his leading role “Say A Little Prayer” whose 2017 released beating single “Despacito” topped major markets across the globe.
Going by this trend, this is not the first precedent created by the exhibitors since cutting ready-made geographic borders and even international barriers between independent producers and distributors. Trailers of the film will be shown in theaters to advertise the film with sponsorship from SBS Broadcasting, a Spanish-speaking media company.
“Supporting Say A Little Prayer was a natural fit for us, as Luis Fonsis music is already a staple on our stations”, told Raul Alarcon – SBS’s CEO. SBS conclusion of the top radio stations in Miami, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Puerto Rico.
Producer Cristina Nava explains that her label, Migrant Filmworks, “has usually followed the conventional distribution method with our films, but oftentimes the outcomes have been discouraging, so to say.”
New Cadence, a film and television banner driven by Jeff Valdez and Sol Trujillo, a corporate executive, have toiled for some years now in creating independent distribution alternatives for Latino content for Latino audiences in America.
“When New Cadence brought a new way of thinking about distribution which appealed to data, which was a ‘New Mainstream’ and one which benefitted everyone, we became convinced this was how things should be — not only for this film but for the future of more equitable film distribution by territories,” said Nava.
The arrangement with AMC Theatres will no doubt be addressed on September 14 when Fonsi and the rest attend a panel discussion at the annual L’Attitude conference in San Diego. This conference is quite important as it seeks to promote Latino leadership and entrepreneurs in various sectors. Fonsi is scheduled to perform at the conference to help launch the trailer of the song,” Say A Little Prayer,” which is scheduled for release on the same night.
“Say A Little Prayer” also features Angélica María (“Rosalinda”), Vanessa Vásquez (“Divorce Bait”), Jackie Cruz (“Orange Is The New Black”), and Vivian Lamolli (“East Los High”). The film centers on three friends who take on the responsibility of what is said to be an ancient prayer in the quest for true love. Their wishes, however, help them to find some rather amusing and unfavorable situations as they attempt to be in relationships with their wrong partners” as explained in the logline.
The romantic comedy has Patrick Perez Vidauri as the director, Nancy De Los Santos wrote the film, and Mussav builds it for Migrant Filmworks. New Cadence Productions has been identified as the executive producer of the project issuing the title for distribution.
