#UNTRUTH: The Psychology of Trumpism: For those who regularly follow this blog, what I have to say is unexciting. It is a case of preaching to the already converted. The audiences that are likely to benefit from the message of this motion picture will, unfortunately, not be watching the motion picture. That is regrettable. This is also sad, because we are concerned with cultists who do not know they are in a cult.
The first film is all about Trump the person whereas the latter is about what Trump did to the American political scene – Trumpism. Anyone who thinks that the second Trump term in office will be any better than the first has to look at his choice for the Vice President: J.D. Vance. J. D. Vance is a sitting Ohio senator who belongs to the white nationalist extremism. He is as vile as Trump, if not more. Allow me to explain it. These two people are facsimiles of the same individual. This is not the situation of a far right leader with a moderate appeal choosing a centrist to attract centrists and independents. No, this is a whole lot worse. They are both far right-wing politicians who will only cater to the followers of Trumpism.
In their study of partisanship and social media as factors influencing violence towards and the political identity of Trumpists, filmmakers include psychologists, historians, and most surprisingly, political conservatives. Some go as far as emphasizing the nature of fascism or cultism as inherent to their beliefs. This is certainly one of the few phrases to describe Trumpism: Steven Hassan, for example, knows about it from being a cultist of Sun Myung Moon. There is still nothing right about Tumpism. It would almost appear as if they are brainwashed by Trump; essentially Trumpism is coercive.
The first thing one should know about the film is the fact it starts with Trump’s inciting speech made on January 6, 2021, which is also two weeks before the Capitol was besieged by his supporters. What else do the #Unfit filmmakers for their sequel today? When I first watched #UNTRUTH: The Psychology of Trumpism, I didn’t think that within the next year he would incite a seditious insurrection. Certainly, I knew he had a authoritarian mindset and that “the Trump administration” was an not a normal one. So it was certainly an exaggeration on his part.
“I was at one time considered trumpier than Trump,” remarks Joe Walsh, one of the tea party conservatives and a former Congressman.
Walsh now appears much calmer and saner than in his previous days when he yelled at President Obama during his address to the congress. He is a Trump voter – in 2016 – but does not endorse the him now because he has seen his bad side.
“The key point is that our democracy as it is right now, is on life support. It is literally hanging by a thread. I do not know if the Democrats comprehend properly how radicalized the base of Republicans is.”
Michael Steele, a former RNC chairman, does not recognize the Republican party of today. Is it possible that the party may not exist or become worse than this? In theory, this is possible. As Walsh puts it, the Republican party is now a party against democracy. He seems to be right. This party is not the party of Abraham Lincoln, and there is no sign that it will ever be such again.
In all this, there is no doubt that Fox News is part of the puzzle. To say the least, they have stepped up the game and taken it to the next level especially in the recent years. It should be very easy to understand why the ADL targets Fox when Tucker Carlson goes to ultra extremes about the Great Replacement Theory. A few network hosts were advancing lies of their own after the elections. It was enough that they saw their self in constant defamation suits. “Fox wants you to believe that there is a conspiracy to destroy Christmas,” Anthony Scaramucci stated.
Walsh: “Its undisputable CNN has a certain bias however CNN is honest. It is the same case to claim with MSNBC, it has an agenda but the news presented is valid. With Fox news this cannot be said as they probably do not even operate within the boundaries of factual information.”
I have grown fond of Malcolm Nance on such platforms and expanding on events. He’s been an ally to the Jewish community, actively denouncing Hamas supporters. He’s also a specialist on Russia–fo an extended period, he went to lend his hand to Ukraine for their battle. He explains how Putin altered the space in Washington and Russia’s participation in the spread of fake news. Nance comments that ‘You can kill democracy by liberalism.’
Peter Strzok, the lead Counterintelligence FBI Agent who was responsible for any and all Russian interference that involved Hillary Rodham Clintons personal emails including severs during the 2016 elections. The Trump-Russia came up story was far from fake. The campaign representatives were meshed up with Russia or Russian operatives. This fact was proved by a bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee – led by Republicans. Given all this, how is it possible for people to still cast votes for Trump?!?
No discussion can take place without the mentioning of social media sites. It is an incubator for hatred, hostility, and lies. Imran Ahmed is the Chief Executive Officer of the Center for Countering Digital Hate. Such things were being studied by Malgorithm Research during the period of COVID-19. And these account branches were easier to follow than the vacuum approach of anti-vaccine ones. In a nutshell, social media algorithms were used in the process of cult formation.
The interesting thing is it also resulted in right wing believing Jews in anti-semitic picture that even cost me the friendship of long standing family friends whose political views turned sour. Just how does this work? The Stop the Steal movement is almost identical in purpose to Qanon. And speaking of Jews, we find a segment from the Sacha Baron Cohen’s speech, where he presents his curriculum at the Antisemitism And Hate Summit ‘Never Is Now’, organized by the ADL.
Project 2025 becomes relevant about 73 minutes from the end of this 91-minute video. Trump says he knows nothing about it but it does not happen without him knowing about it. This is a plan that seeks to make a monarch out of Trump. It will create the US as a Christian Nationalist country turning Jews into second and third-class citizens. Oh yes, transgender individuals like myself would possess no rights whatsoever as LGBTQ rights would simply not be in existence of #UNTRUTH: The Psychology of Trumpism.
As they explain, and as many have pointed out including, Denver Riggleman, Anthony Scaramucci, and Joe Walsh, in the short term there is no acceptable way out of this situation. Some may think that whatever transpires on Election Day, the crises associated with Trumpism are surely going to diminish. But as Walsh emphasizes: “We are not getting out of this thing tomorrow and we are not getting out of this thing in 2024, and Fox News is not going to shift their operational framework anytime soon. So the immediate task in front of us is to rally behind the only individual who can sideline Donald Trump’s aspirations of being the president once again, and even if he did, he would have De Santis to support his views anyways.”
Malcolm Nance: “It can’t just be a blue wave, it can’t just be a blue wave, it has to be a wave where the Republicans that are able to support America, independent ones who do not wish to succumb to totalitarianism, as well as Democrats willing to welcome them to the fold together and work for the good of one nation.”
#UNTRUTH: The Psychology of Trumpism and many regards, the narrative does not tell us anything new, or shocking, and should not be perceived as such but in fact is a gentle reminder that American democracy is under pressure. For such a threat to be nullified there is an urgent need for the people of America to make Kamala Harris and Tim Walz their joint representatives.
Otherwise, this nation might never see another election at the federal level. Trump and his affiliates have revealed their true selves. This Trumpism should be eradicated this coming November.
