We Are Wolves
We Are Wolves
We Are Wolves: Let’s be honest, it’s not made for art house audiences and that makes it better. Every top and bottom out there knows how hard it can be to find a good B movie. This is a good B film and quite different than those dull VHS erotic thrillers a lot of viewers are used to from the ’90. Speaking of the genre, I can tell a horror when I taste one.
Three licks in and you have that savoring scariness to the palate that seems to be everlasting. There is a sense of dreariness and otherness about its structure which is very typical of horror movies that keeps the audience glued to the film. This is not just about smacking on an ass, although you will get that as well.
Like Three on a Meat Hook with a little bit of 50 Shades of Grey in there. It goes in fast and hard like the drugged out drinks that seem to be the only drink choice for each actor and actress in the movie. Yes, drinking drugged drinks on purpose is that kind of party. The forced enema scene made me cry so pack your hankies if you’re not sitting on a pile.
Sex and nude features are very respectful and done in a tasteful way. There are several areas that could have gone for more objectification and didn’t. While many people tend to consider bending over while cleaning and showing perfectly shaped posteriors popping out from maids’ uniforms as an untapped potential, everything comes together in this case.
The way only selective nudity is used during the film nurtures the emotions further in the narrative. Also, it reinforces the realism of the universe portrayed in the movie and hence, real character multiplier growth is possible. That then makes the possibility for talented actresses very capable ones which, We Are Wolves has in abundance. And finally, we reached a time in the timeline where it is okay to possess this horrific Kink film in your résumé and it is all thanks to Mallery.
Mares deserves special mention here because her emotional range seems to reach all the highs at once like a laser beam. Winters is, rather than an actress, a performer which is precisely what a cult mega-star should be. If playing the role is analogous to playing the flute ideally, Winters would evoke a muffled, sick guitar sound. I could easily see her ushering in this band in a pre-Sexpot Warhol or Waters flick. Kravchenko is another favorite of mine, since she is both fierce and relatable.
I feel like for years, I have known her without actually meeting her because she was just starting her film career eyeing after serving some time. And instead of portraying Selena like a passive log, she manages to tease the audience with fractions of what Selena is probably feeling behind the veil of the pickets. We Are Wolves is a post-exploitation bears a vicious and uncontrolled Christopher Raeburn designed thigh high leather strut that cascades like a live wire current straight into your lap.
