The planet Sargacia has Finders, who are intergalactic police. They’ve assigned Abraxas and Secundus to a particular case. Abraxas has been a Finder for almost ten thousand years. Relying on the Answer Box, a device that every Finder has and which works as a scanner and communicator, Abraxas is able to locate any object from afar based on its vibration. Any object that the Answer Box is used against has the potential to be damaged or destroyed. When trying to assess the Anti-Life Equation, the subjects being analyzed will disintegrate if they don’t possess the equation.
Secundus imagines that entering a negative universe will allow him to gain infinite powers and achieve immortality. In order to accomplish this, he must locate the solution to the Anti-Life Equation. He comes to Earth and, by merely placing his hand on her abdomen, he successfully impregnates the first human woman he encounters, Sonia Murray. The baby to be born from this union will become a formidable prodigy known as the Culmator, who will possess the ability to solve the equation. Within minutes, Sonia gives birth to a boy, who she names Tommy. Now Abraxas has Sekundus cornered and so other Finders can pinpoint their position. They transport Sekundus to the prison planet Tyrannus 7. Abraxas is instructed to kill Sonia before she has delivered, but he cannot do it, and so he is forced to leave with Tommy. Sonia’s parents throw her out of the house, as they seem far more interested in the fact that she does not even know her baby’s father than the outrageous fact that the baby was famously conceived and born on the same day.
Tommy, now five years older, has strange new abilities. While he does not speak, he managed to get his bully’s pants the other day. In response to this, Sonia gets called in by the principal but does not agree with anything Tommy’s mother says. Secundus manages to escape teleportation prison 7 and lands himself on Earth. The Finders chase after him with technology identical to what he stole, however, they fall into a trap where their weapons van gets destroyed. Abraxas, a new character, goes after secular but cannot keep up. Using an automatic shop’s fuse box, he recharges his answer box, however, gets confronted by the owner. Secundus tries to experiment on him to test out the Anti-life equation and in turn, ends up blowing the shop owner apart. This leads Secundus into a rampage of himself, stealing cars and killing unarmed people without any reason. After all of this, he starts scanning people in search of the right anti-life equation owner.
Secundus manages to evade capture and locate Sonia’s house. While Sonia and Tommy are out for a movie, Secundus attempts to conduct an experiment on Tommy. Fortunately, Abraxas arrives before the child is harmed, and they engage in a battle once again. During their confrontation, Abraxas is stabbed in the stomach; as Abraxas is left wounded, Secundus mocks him about the forthcoming world devastation he is about to witness. Sonia, with Tommy in tow, comes back home only to be shocked to find Abraxas in the living room. She screams her frustration at Abraxas for allowing Secundus to impregnate her, but he calms her down and convinces her to take him and Tommy to a safer location. On the way to her friend Maxie’s house, Abraxas gets furious and turns off his Answer Box when the Finders command him to kill Tommy. He and Sonia reconvene at Maxie’s, and Abraxas is generally nice to her because they have a mutual agreement to protect Tommy, creating a bond between them.
In a school scenario, a man named Secundus has taken students hostage. He has instructed that they will all be killed one at a time unless someone presents the Culmator to him. Meanwhile, Tommy, Sonia, and Abraxas are meeting Tommy’s police friends, and make sure that one of them witnesses Secundus’s threat at the school. This way, Secundus’s threat can go into a police report. Abraxas and Tommy get engaged in a fight with Secundus, and dreadfully, Tommy is forced to dash. It is revealed that Abraxas gets beaten by Secundus, who then leaps into a car to go after Tommy. Upon catching him, he bounds Tommy up in a garage, and at his wit’s end, Tommy triggers his dormant pyrokinesis powers. Consequently, the garage goes up in flames. Secundus is engaged in a fight with Abraxas and reclines to give Abraxas a serious warning. He tells Abraxas that his rules as a Finder restrict him from killing other Finders in Sargacian territory. Sadly, Abraxas powers through this, eliminates Secundus and subsequently halts the fine horrors he’s been wreaking. He does try to bring up the point that the Commander is more than happy to have Abraxas head back to Sargacia at the end, but instead, it is Abraxas who offers to take Sonia and Tommy’s protection as a priority.
