The feature film “Lost on a Mountain in Maine” has distribution rights by Blue Fox Entertainment and is set for release on November 1st.
Produced by Sylvester Stallone’s Balboa Productions, the film depicts a true story of Donn Fendler a 12 year old boy who in his words “gets lost on a mountain when a sudden storm sweeps through” the films logline reads.
Donn’s lapse of self-control leads him to go missing for surrendering to the rugged northern forest of Maine without food, sufficient clothing or even saying how hopeless his condition is. He makes headlines for going missing, which causes a widespread search and garners dozens of volunteers, including his father, who believes he will never see his son again.
Directed by Stallone, the movie stars Luke David Blumm (“The King of Staten Island”), Paul Sparks (Netflix’s “House of Cards”), Caitlin FitzGerald (Showtime’s “Masters of Sex”) and Ethan Slater (“Wicked”). The film directed by stallone made its theatrical debut recently where the Audients for the film sold out the 810 seat Waterville Opera House situated in the Maine International Film Festival.
The film has been directed by Andrew Boodhoo Kightlinger (“Tater Tot & Patton”) working on a screenplay written by Luke Paradise (“Sympathy for the Devil”) based on the book with the same title published in the year 1939, written by Fendler as an autobiography focusing on his early childhood.
The film is produced by Stallone, Braden Aftergood, Dick Boyce and Ryan Cook, with executive producers Heather Grehan, Derek Desmond, Stephanie Blackwood and Mario Nicosia.
“Let us remind the audience that we’re witnessing an American classic film about a twelve year old that was emotionally intertwined to the event of the movie. It was so low budget that the back drop shown was the great outdoors and one actually witnessed the mountains and the rivers which quite literally was better than CGI. It had a rebel spirit in the people who produced the film and put it together where throughout the film, there would be a passionate support for Stallone’s message,” Boodhoo Kightlinger stated. “This is the sort of story that America is missing and sharing with the audience, Blue Fox is making a bold move that can attract new fans to the cinemas.”
Balboa Productions’ documentary film, “Sly,” which had its Netflix debut as a closing night gala at TIFF in November 2023.
