Singing Back The Buffalo: “The tales are there, the melodies exist, culture lies inside them but incorporating these will not be possible until the Buffalo is not included”

In the Native American cultures, the buffalo represents a powerful instinctive responsibility because it sacrifices everything to save human beings. As such, they do not limit what she can offer herself, but rather is in search of balance to suit others surrounding her.

It is the present where Tasha Hubbard, a film maker focused on various Indigenous peoples across Canada, is writing her own history – that of the attempts to return Bison to its historical territories – the ones occupied by Indigenous Nations of Canada even after white colonisation wiped them out from this country.

The Burrio describes and expounds the multilateral issues of intergenerational effects of disappearance of the first nations peoples chronicled in the history on the Canadian aborginals and as well elaborates on when Colonizers did genocide of Buffalos replacing them with Cows; it did also include extermination of the Cultural practices of aborigin.

During this documentary one is able to see what struggles communities face in the process of trying to go back bisons in their native lands Canada, and why these saying so herd that goes back to its ancestral lands in many ways is critical in protecting biodiversity. They are also critical in restoring the ecological systems with regard to indigenous food sovereignty, and helping people heal cultural wounds by connecting with cultures that make them who they are and where they are from.

This documentary tells us quite a lot about the appeal of us Canadians in the world of Canada: I explain to my pupils the need of tolerance towards individuals who think differently, especially those immigrants who settled in this country while learning from history, and there is no doubt that all people live on patterns which preceded them, that is, knowing oneself cannot ever be complete without knowing others as well, and this makes the importance of such movies, as Hubbard created, evident.
