How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies is the new Thailand comedy movie that has earned quite a number of accolades from the public due to its tear jerking nature that is bound to leave people innocent or otherwise crying.
Pat Boonnitipat is at the helm of the movie whereas the; How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies Billkin, Usha Seamkhum, Duu Sanya Kunakorn, Jear Sarinrat Thomas, Phuak Pongsatorn Jongwilas, Tu Tontawan Tantivejakul and Himawari Tajiri is released initially in April 2024.
Pat Boonnitipat directed this film where the main character is M and her grandmother, known to the public as Lahn Mah movie How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies depicts the struggles of the Sino-Thai family which M belongs to.
Defining an overachiever, without graduating from high school, M, the rookie gamecaster, earns less until he learns about his ailing relatives who have cousins that will take care of them before they will. As a result of this, M resolves to become the caretaker for his grandmother who suffers from cancer with the hope of getting her house when she’s dead. Yet when their relationship begins to blossom, M finds himself unconsciously claiming affection for her.
M appears cold to Grandma until when
At first, M focuses on one thing alone, which is fulfilling his plan of getting hold of Grandmother’s house after her death. He makes her turn against her mother so that she has a better chance of being looked after by him. M is worried that he will not be entitled to inherit any of the property when the eldest son, Kiang proposes that they take attention away from M and rather move Mr. Kiang’s mother to him for better care.
At that stage, Grandma gets the impression Kiang and M are interested in her wealth and not in her when they pretend to hope or care for her. Kiang and his family tell the god at the temple that this is what they want done only for them and not anyone else.
M’s grandmother offers prayers for everyone while M himself prays for his grandmother to win a lottery jackpot. M begins praying and trying to fix everything for her because M knows that she begins worsening health-wise. For instance, he reminisces in shocked dismay the first time she told him that she was happy to see chess. However, he notices passionate sadness in her for the simple reason that she is all alone. His anger on her account makes him confront her youngest son, Soei, when he steals 200k toward settling his debt.
Still, he offers help by lending the only resource at his disposal indicating that he did not intend to use the 200k for himself. She keeps on being annoyed on her behalf since even her relatives are not particularly worried about her. M is not only furious that he didn’t manage to obtain the house when she gives it to Soei, but feels anger that she does not love him that much for her to keep the house with her.
Doesn’t grandma feel any rage when she hears that M was supposed to sell her house?
He then does not hesitate to take as much as he wishes from grandma until he feels strong enough to bond with Grandma M. He also puts the house on the internet and waits for grandma to hand it over, so that he can sell it. He seems to have a change of heart for some reason and disregards the inquiry. One of the buyers even comes to the apartment in pursuit of property and grandma makes it clear that it is off the market.
It is out of character for her to be dishonest with M about the man and comes up with a plan to get him a business casual shirt that she bought for him in the hopes he gets a nice job. He laughs and says there is nothing useful about him and she is upset as it is a word she has always used with him. She picks a pomegranate from the tree she had planted for him and tells him that mustn’t be a flattering thing as she loves him still and always will anyways.
What makes M return off to Grandma?
The moment Grandma bestows the house to Soei for him to manage the problematic loan, M fumes at her for this act. It is as if in no way, would she ever even be able to love him that much. However, immediately after talking to his mom, his cousin, he realizes he is in love with her and cares about her.
When she is sent to a nursing home, he pleads with her to come back with him and his mother. He is there at the very moment of her death and learns she has left some money for him – although in her will.
In a flashback, we see that when he was young she had opened a bank account for him and he said he would buy her a new house with it one day. Currently, he takes all that money out and pays for her grave. And at the end of the How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies movie as she wanted, all her kids and grandchildren gather up at her tomb.
